01 — Our Story

Where it
all
began.

People do not take trips, trips take people. It started with a pile of old shirts at a flea market in Cinq-Mars-la-Pile, a small village in Touraine, France.

Chez Kilometre Paris, we do not manufacture new fabrics. We search for old materials — XIXth-century shirts, linens that have already lived a first life — and we give them a new destiny.

Each piece carries a story — not a label, not a slogan. A place, a year, a journey. That's the only luxury we care about.

Voilà ce qu'est Kilometre Paris.

Alexandra Senes, a journalist and lifelong traveler, found herself standing before a collection of XIXth-century work shirts, simple, worn, untouched for decades. They had once belonged to a film set decorator.

His wife, who was selling them, simply wished to get rid of them, while Alexandra harbored the desire to craft a narrative of travel. Each shirt was a 'Piece Unique.' Alexandra bought them not to resell, but to embroider on.

With a passion for travel, heritage, and craftsmanship, Alexandra brought the shirts to artisans around the world — in Morocco, India, Mexico — and asked them to embroider. Each stitch was made by hand, in a place far from Paris, with a patience that no machine could replace. From this idea, Kilometre Paris was born.

Alexandra Senes is not a fashion designer in the conventional sense. She calls herself a pilot, someone who navigates between cultures, crafts, and stories. The brand she built, Kilometre Paris, reflects that restlessness, and that respect: for the people who make, for the materials that endure, and for the places that leave a mark on us.

The story
moves.

The GPS coordinates stitched into each of our piece's teleport you to point zero: the front of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, kilometre zero, where all French roads begin.

This unique feature not only grounds our creations in the heart of our Parisian heritage but also symbolizes a journey where every garment becomes a vessel for exploration and discovery.

At Kilometre Paris, we start with vintage shirts and treat them as blank canvases, handing them to artisans who embroidery by hand.

The point is fixed, but the embroidery tells a different story: the place it came from, the hands that made it, and the person who will wear it next.

Additionally, antique hunting is part of what we do, scouring the globe for hidden treasures. From sniffing out the back of trucks to exploring attics and factory closets, our team unearths unique finds like sailor blouses and overalls, each with its own tale to tell.

Every garment is a vessel for exploration.

03 — Our Hands

Every stitch
is a conversation.

At Kilometre Paris, every stitch we make is a conversation, between past and present, between Paris and the places our artisans call home.

We work with artisans whose craft has been passed down through generations, not as a relic of the past, but as a living language.

Each piece is embroidered slowly, by hand, in a place where time moves differently.

We believe that people's art is a true mirror of their minds, which makes our brand deeply human and vibrant.

Our Travelers' Club invites artists, thinkers, and creators to collaborate with us, not to design, but to translate.

Using vintage shirts from the 19th century, each contributor offers their own visual interpretation of a destination that's dear to us creating masterpiece souvenirs of our « moments de vie ».
